I’m in Week 30 of my pregnancy, I awoke this morning and said to DSO - “I feel like I’m 100 years old!” In retrospect this was a bit of an exaggeration, I think 85 years old is more accurate!
What do I mean?
1. I have trouble getting out of a chair if I have been sitting for a while.
2. I sleep lightly all night, waking frequently and will talk at length about this should anyone ask that seemingly innocent question - “How are you?”.
3. Ironically, given 2 above, I want to sleep all day.
4. I have to roll out of bed in the morning, and then stand there for a few minutes reassessing my balance, like a rebooted computer checking for viruses, before I can risk walking.
4. I am starving at 5pm at night and would eat dinner then, if possible.
5. My knees crack and I groan out loud when I have to bend to the ground (about 100 times a day to retrieve toys).
6. I have chronic indigestion.
7. My memory is fuzzy and I have lost my ability to navigate while driving. I miss turnoffs I’ve been driving through for years.
8. I need to use the bathroom all the time.
Truly, life as an octogenarian will be a walk in the park. Sure, I’ll have all of this to contend with - but next time around Big Sis and Little Bro will be heating up my milk!

Stumbled you! Hang on, 10 weeks will be a breeze. Praying for a safe delivery.

Thanks for the stumble! You are right - the 10 weeks will go by really fast - particularly if this fuzzy brain continues!

Hang in there, its almost over. Remember it will all be worth it when you hold your little baby in your arms.

You’ll get thru it ok.
Good luck!

Take it easy. Ten more weeks….probably the most important 10. You want that baby cooking as long as possible!
Stumbled you.

Oh, that’s hilarious and I can so relate! Been there

Boy, that sure brings back memories. It’s amazing, though, that once you give birth all those symptoms disappear. Take care!

How I remember these symptoms! Your body does feel OLD, I couldn’t wait to have my body back to it’s normal self by the very end of my pregnancy.
I remember the feeling the next morning after my baby was born and being able to see not only my flat tummy, but my feet!
You do need plenty of rest! Those were a couple of things I loved about being pregnant, being able to sleep and eat as much as I wanted.
Take care!

Poor Leis, I say throw caution to the wind and eat dinner at 5 if that’s when you want it. Just remember to make it look really unappetising - something like congee, which is visually terrible but tastes out of this world - to ensure Big Sis doesn’t want to join you. You’re the best napper I’ve ever met, so sneak in a few more when you can. xxx

It’s a very hard time, but you are on the home straight! Big Sis and Little Bro are on board and have agreed to make the remainder of your journey as comfortable as possible. And after she arrives, you can to borrow (and abrogate) a phrase from dogwoman, “start renovating your temple”. You’ll be back in your early 30s before we know it!
July 11th, 2007 at 6:30 pm
Ah DSO, I love it when you abrogate me!

I’m sure you’ve never looked better, too, for someone 100 years old.

It is truly one of those situations where I don’t look as bad as I feel! I almost posted a photo but couldn’t get the camera/download thingy to work, please see 7 above!
