This morning we participated in the Million Paws Walk. It’s an annual dog walk to raise money for the RSPCA (an animal welfare agency in Australia). So, it was just us - Big Sis, Little Bro, DSO, me and of course our trusty hound - Dog, along with thousands of our friends and their pooches.
Our favorite game is to check out all the different breeds of dogs, and relate them back to the kids’ favorite series of books - Hairy Maclary by Lynley Dodd. Today we saw; Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy, Muffin McLay like a bundle of hay, Bottomly Potts all covered in spots, Hercules Morse as big as a horse, Schnitzel von Krumm with a very low tum and Bitzer Maloney all skinny and boney!
But, by far the biggest hit with Big Sis was what she termed the man-dog, pictured above, which she pursued mercilessly through the day! This was quite disturbing for Little Bro who thought there was something decidedly wrong with the man-dog and erupted into tears whenever he/it approached!
Dog was initially suspicious but as you can see form the picture below, when it comes down to it, he doesn’t care where the tummy rub comes from!
